Lucy Jackson's work is based around the notions of family, memory and loss, primarily in the home environment.

Investigating the home as a mnemonic system, and the objects and spaces within it as mnemonics, the artist feels that family and the home is important and that is why she chooses to capture it through the process of photography.

'The Photograph is a material possession, that one has to look after, keep safe and preserve, so that it is always there as a memoir, and a mnemonic.'
